Adamson University’s tuition fee for 2nd semester is deferred

Adamson University deferred the payment of tuition fees and incurred a 15% rebate to aid in hearing the students’ dissents.


In the middle of a pandemic due to coronavirus outbreak in the country, Adamson University released an announcement about the second-semester classes as well with regards to grades and other academic-related concerns. They also stated that there are no more on-campus or face-to-face meetings after April 30, 2020, and must end the semester online for the welfare of everyone.


Its decision of deferring tuition fees and giving students a refund on their miscellaneous then promotes empathy and compassion towards the student bodies. It is also stated that the students will receive a prorated refund on selected miscellaneous fees as well as appropriate rebates on laboratory usage fees.


The said refund will be credited to the students’ tuition for the second semester. The university received positive comments regarding their decision on this matter and giving considerations on others.


Student bodies and the working class are all aware that this community lockdown caused many people to refrain from working. Although work from home is insisted, not all kind of work is applicable to do such. Some people rely on their monthly merely rely on their paychecks, and since community quarantine is applied in many areas in the country, in the current, they barely have enough money left.


Some people spend their day worrying with regards to how they will be able to feed their families throughout the community quarantine. Most of the families here in the Philippines rely on what the government will give them as it is their only hope to put food on their tables because they cannot work amid the pandemic.


Meanwhile, the students’ further dissents with regards to the university’s action plan in persuading online classes are still left unheard.
